Happening Place
The food is good and very reasonably priced. The specials are usually over the top. It's a small place so you might have to wait at times for a table. It's trendy and full of life at nights. It turns into a bar atmosphere after 10 pm or so. DJ?s on some nights. They don't have a patio, but have a large window (glass garage door) that opens which gives that outdoor feel if you are in the bar area. It can be very romantic or a great place to go with friends. Clientele is probably 99% gay and most are under 40. Older people who have a problem with the gay scene would probably be uncomfortable here./P

Absolutely Amazing!
We love this place. The Best part of the experience was to get seated by the huge garage window. Open Air...Great...The worst part was they were out of Lamb tenderloin which we had several times before and actually that was why we were there for this time. I decided to go for Lam burger and my wife had Tenderloin Kebob. They both were absolutely amazing. We were offered small salad for 2.29 and we had Turkish and Caprice Salad. Turkish salad was great and I did not care for the Caprice Salad but my wife loved it. There is great wine list and Martini list but we went for their Guava and Mango Mojito. The server said that they make the syrup in the house and they were quite nice. Everyone around us seemed to enjoy their experience as well. One thing about this place is it is very intimate and you get to talk to other people. Very neighborhood kind of feeling. Well ,the service was also exceptional. We eat out a lot and we lived in Greece for nine years experiencing Mediterranean cuisine all around Europe. We defiantly recommend Gilberts to everybody./P

Not authentic, bad service
Unless you are going to get drinks, this isn't really the place to get a decent Mediterranean cuisine. Nice hangout, other than that, nothing spectacular. /P

Excellent!
Took an out of town guest to this place and she really enjoyed it. Service was prompt, professional and personable... no attitude or rushing. The food was great as I ordered the salmon, mushroom soup and a tiramisu martini. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their food as well. The ambiance is very eclectic but blends well with the area... nothing too gaudy or too cheapy.BR /

Mmm...Hummus?
The food was wonderful and the service was also very good. I think there was a birthday party of some sort going on at the bar while we were there but it wasn't distracting. I liked the level of lighting and all the members of my group seemed to enjoy their dishes as well. Even started a random conversation with the two guys next to us....they seemed to like their food too!/P

not your average sunday dinner!!
We tried Gilberts last sunday night, not realizing it was karoke night!!! very loud, but very good!!! there was one guy dancing around the tables to michael jackson, and another guy belting out a soprano ballad! it sounds strange, but was actually a lot of fun. the food was pretty good, though the tables were tightjust enough room for our 2 plates and nothing more. The service at Gilberts was very attentive. we got our meals quickly, and the waitress was pleasant. my favorite was the pear fennel saladdelicious!! be warned though, if you are not "open" to alternative lifestyles, you may want to dine elsewhere. /P

Very comfortable and the food is great with reasonable prices
i like this place for the great food and reasonable prices. my favorites: zorba sampler platter, almond tilapia, lamb tenderloin and baklava. lately we started hanging out after dinner and discovered that place becomes a major bar/club scene after dinner. great scene with mixed crowd, diverse crowd. it gets really crazy on sundays after 5pm or so with karaoke, great singers (not me) and great energy! i would recommend this place because you feel that you are appreciated. Oh the music is really classy too./P

It was good, but doesn't live up to the hype
The service was good. The server was courteous and prompt to help. The decoration really helped the ambience. The food was good and very affordable. I had one of the best panini ever and I liked the humus. I had to wait quite a bit for our food, even though there were very few people in the place. The ambience was broken because of the loud conversation among the waiters as well. The place is perfect for a friends gathering but maybe a bit too loud for a romantic dinner./P

Dogwood Festival! Sunday Brunch!
My partner and I recently met at Gilbert's for Sunday Brunch, before going across the street to Piedmont Park and The Dogwood Festival. A group of about ten of us met, and had a wonderful time at this cozy little cafe. For just $10.95, we had a very tasty meal of allyou careto eat. Simply delightful, our personal favorites were Cheese Grits, Grilled Cheese w/bacon, and the Western Omlette. Very easy servicestaff, excellent drinks. This made the Dogwwod Festival a very special event. Can't wait to try their dinner menu. Gilbert's All You Can Eat Sunday Brunch for $10.99 is killer!/P

Food, atmosphere, waiters, bartenders....all are excellent at Gilbert's!!
I have been a fan of Gilbert's since the days it was a small neighborhood deli and I lived in Midtown during those days. Now Gilbert's has evolved into a truly finedining restaurant with an exceptional menu and an outstanding bar scene. The waiters are professional, the bartenders are the best in Atlanta, and even though I have moved out of Midtown, I still enjoy a few nights every week among friends at Gilbert's. The calamari with extra spicy dipping sauce and the stuffed peppers are my personal favorite appetizers but I've never been dissappointed with anything on the menu./P
